Our goal for our All Church Prayer & Fasting is to spend 21 days to draw closer to God and seek Him first, together. The more we seek Him, the more we become who He created us to be.

How to Take Part

21 Days of Prayer & Fasting isn’t something to watch — it’s something to step into.
We’ve shaped these three weeks to help you build rhythms that last well beyond January.

1. Read the Bible with us
We’re launching a church-wide Bible reading plan at the start of the 21 days. It begins together in January and continues for the whole year, helping us stay rooted in Scripture as a church family. Whether you’re new to reading the Bible or have done it for years, this is about consistency, not perfection.

2. Join daily prayer (weekdays)
Every weekday morning we gather on Zoom from 6:45–7:00am to pray together. It’s short, focused, and accessible — a simple way to begin the day by seeking God before everything else demands your attention.

3. Choose how you will fast
Fasting looks different for different people. Below you’ll find a range of fasting options to help you choose a meaningful and sustainable way to participate throughout the 21 days.

4. Come to our Prayer & Worship Nights
On Thursday 15, 22, and 29 January, we’ll gather in person for extended prayer and worship. These evenings create space to slow down, listen to God, and pray together as a church.

7:00–8:30pm

You don’t need to do everything to take part — but you do need to choose something. Start where you are, commit to a rhythm, and let these 21 days shape the year ahead.

Why You Should Fast

Fasting is not about punishing the body or earning God’s approval. It’s about desire. We fast because we recognise that something in us has grown too attached to the world, and we want to realign our hunger toward God.

In Scripture, fasting is a normal, expected practice for God’s people. Jesus didn’t say if you fast - He said when you fast. Fasting is a way of uncluttering the soul. It disrupts our routines, interrupts our appetites and exposes what we rely on to feel secure, satisfied or distracted. When we intentionally lay aside food, entertainment or comforts, we discover what has been quietly discipling our hearts.

Fasting sharpens spiritual hunger. It enlarges our capacity for God’s presence. It breaks the power of hidden idols. It softens our hearts to hear God’s voice. It creates space for repentance, clarity and courage. Throughout church history, every significant move of God has been marked by people who humbled themselves through prayer and fasting.

We fast because we want more than the world can give. We want God. We want His kingdom, His power and His presence in our lives, our families and our city. Fasting is not loss — it is preparation. It readies us for the future God wants to entrust to us.

In a world full of noise, fasting is how we turn down the volume on everything else so we can hear the voice that matters most.

Types of Fasts

Complete Fast
In this type of fast, you drink only liquid (usually water) with light juices or broth as an option.

Lifestyle Fasts
Removing something (non-food related) from your daily life such as social media or TV. This is a particularly great option if giving up anything food related is not currently a healthy choice for you. If you are pregnant, undergoing physical treatment or are currently struggling in your relationship with food, we highly recommend this option to you. We want fasting to be a positive experience for everyone which results in people feeling more connected to God, rather than triggering negative thought patterns or behaviours.

Selective Fast
This involves removing certain elements from your diet.  For example, you may want to eliminate coffee, a favorite food, or a combination of things as you feel led.  Another option would be skipping only one meal of the day and spend that time praying, instead.

Partial Fast
A partial fast is a flexible form of fasting where you intentionally abstain from one or two meals each day for a set period of time.

Rather than fasting from all food, a partial fast creates space for prayer and spiritual focus within the rhythms of normal life. The meals you skip become intentional moments to seek God through prayer, Scripture, and reflection, offering Him your hunger as an act of devotion.

This type of fast is often accessible and sustainable, making it a meaningful way to practice self-discipline and deepen dependence on God while still maintaining daily responsibilities.

Daniel Fast
A very popular fast, learned from a powerful and Godly man who influenced Babylon and took a time “to eat no pleasant food.” Daniel 10:3  This includes removing all meats, sweets, dairy, oils, and breads from your diet and eating only fruits, vegetables, and possibly some ancient grains.
